BUH-BYE SILVERMAN!

It's been years since Ben Silverman became head of programming for NBC, and its been almost two years since I have wished his head removed from the position. Silverman did nothing to make NBC strong, and in fact, made it worse.

Who could ever forget the dreck this man put on the air: KATH AND KIM, MY OWN WORST ENEMY, KNIGHT RIDER, AMERICAN GLADIATORS, and countless number of reality trash. His only bright spots: KINGS, SOUTHLAND and (maybe) PARKS & RECREATION.

Sure, toward the end he was starting to improve (the aforementioned three shows, plus:), bringing TRAUMA, COMMUNITY, DAY ONE and PARENTHOOD to the airwaves in 2009-2010. But it's been a long time coming for his ouster. I wish him the best of luck as a producer (where he shined brightest with THE OFFICE and UGLY BETTY)

SUMMER TV 2009 is JUST FINE, FINE, FINE!

I don't know about you, but TV has been GOOD this summer. One of my favorite shows, TRUE BLOOD, is burning up HBO, along with the new HUNG (havent seen it yet, but will soon) and SHOWTIME's NURSE JACKIE is very good, too.

Also, ABC has given us new episodes of BETTER OFF TED, one of the few new shows last year that I actually became a fan of. Sorry that SUPERSTARS sucks, those.

NBC is showing the UK series MERLIN. It's really good, even though ratings for it have been weak. Fans of MERLIN take note: Season 2 is airing in the UK right now, so maybe BBC AMERICA will show MERLIN SERIES 2 even if NBC does not.

CBS stayed true to their word and followed through with HARPERS ISLAND until the fun, cheesy end. YAY!

And SYFY has delivered the return of EUREKA and the new WAREHOUSE 13.

Not to mention the funny TOSH.0 on Comedy Central, and ABC's return of PUSHING DAISIES. And coming up: DROP DEAD DIVA and PROJECT RUNWAY.

So, overall, great summer!
